Brushing techniques

Brushing should be done for a full three minutes, at twice a day. It removes the sticky film called plaque, that causes cavities and bad breath.

Here are some easy steps to follow:

1) Start by using a pea-size portion of toothpaste with fluoride in it.

2) Place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle along your gums.

3) Using short strokes, gently move the brush back and forth along each tooth.

4) Remember to brush the outer, inner and chewing portions of your teeth.

5) Be sure to brush your tongue; it removes plaque and helps freshen your breath.

6) Most importantly, brush for three full minutes.

If you do this every day, you will have cleaner teeth, fresher breath and a better chance of avoiding cavities.
